How to make chocolate vanilla cake

This is a very basic chocolate vanilla cake recipe and can be easily modified to make a chocolate or eggless cake. It can be tried by anyone without any problem.

Making a basic vanilla cake is very simple. In this post I will let you know how to make a very basic vanilla cake. This can be used as starting point and can be modified to make cholate cake and other variations.

Ingredients required

  • 1 cup Maida i.e refined flour( You can replace it with aata i.e Wheat flour)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla essence
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup oil/plain butter

If you do not want to use eggs, then increase milk quantity. Or if you do not want to use milk, then use 3 eggs.

Process

Mix all dry ingredients i.e maida, sugar and baking powder. Make sure to sieve it while pouring into the mixing bowl.

In a separate bowl take 2 eggs and add milk and oil. Mix the mixture for 1-2 min. Do not over mix it. Now slowly add the dry mixture in it and mixing it, making sure no lumps is formed. Add vanilla essence and salt and mix it. Pour it the cake tin which is already greased with oil or butter.

Place it in the oven which is pre heated at 170 degree centigrade. Set the timer for 30-40 min. Your need to check in between as not all oven are same and make need some additional time.

Note- to make a chocolate cake, reduce maida by 2 tsp and add equal quantity of coco powder.
